Marketing - EyeQ Optometrists

We wanted to keep you in the loop about some important changes. As you may know, on 31 January 2024, Luxottica Retail Australia (Luxottica) acquired the EyeQ Optometrists network (EyeQ Network). While the EyeQ Network has been operating on its own system, we’re about to start migrating to Luxottica’s systems in two stages.

Here’s what you need to know:

November 2024: Basic profile information (name, date of birth and contact details) will be transferred to Luxottica. Health records will not be moved yet.

Early to mid-2025: The rest of your records, including your health information, will be migrated. Following the second stage, the EyeQ Network systems will be decommissioned.

We are sharing this to let you know how your personal information will be handled and to offer options if you prefer not to transfer your health records or receive direct marketing from Luxottica.

What are your options?

  • If you’re happy with the transfer of your health records to Luxottica, no action is needed.
  • If you’d prefer that we don’t transfer your health records to Luxottica, please email us at privacy@eyeq.com.au with the name(s) and mobile number of anyone who objects to the transfer, by 25 January 2025 and indicate whether you would like to have your health records sent to you or your preferred healthcare provider. If you don’t nominate where you would like your records to be sent, then to the extent permitted by law, EyeQ Network will securely destroy your health record. If you are located in the ACT and you don’t nominate where you would like your records to be sent your records will be transferred to Luxottica.
  • EyeQ Network’s records indicate that you are subscribed to receive direct marketing from EyeQ Network. Luxottica intends to honour your marketing subscription. If you do not want to receive direct marketing from Luxottica, let us know via email at privacy@eyeq.com.au. Please include the name(s) and mobile number of anyone who wishes to opt out of direct marketing in your email.

Why is Luxottica collecting your records?

Your profile information and health records help us to provide you with appropriate eyecare, eyewear solutions and services at EyeQ and to support any inquiries you may have. If Luxottica doesn’t have your personal information, we won’t be able to identify you in our systems or be able to assist you with the products and services you need.
