EyeQ Optometrists Jannali (formerly Southern Optical), opened in 2000 and quickly built a reputation for providing quality eyecare. Today, we are one of the largest independent optometry practices in the Sutherland Shire, proudly servicing all areas including Miranda, Sylvania, Kirrawee, Woronora, Gymea, Kareela, Como, Oyster Bay and Jannali.
Our optometrists are members of OA, ACBO, CCLSA and two are therapeutically endorsed. Our behavioural optometrists are experienced in the treatment of children with strabismus, amblyopia and learning difficulties. Our qualified optical dispensers are ready to advise on both children’s and adult glasses, sunglasses and contact lenses. Eye examinations are done in a caring, professional and friendly manner so all patients are made to feel comfortable.

Having graduated from the University of New South Wales in 1994, Glen has worked in both large optometry groups and independent practices.
Glen holds a Masters of Behavioural Optometry and is therapeutically endorsed to prescribe schedule 4 medicines for anterior eye pathology, infections and inflammation.
Bonnie began her career in Adelaide before moving to Sydney. She has spent the last 35 years serving the Sutherland Shire community, often seeing 2 or 3 generations of the same family.
Bonnie has developed a special interest in children’s vision, preventative ocular disease, dry eyes and nutritional care for eye health.
Peter graduated from the University of New South Wales then completed post graduate studies in contact lenses and therapeutic drugs prescribing.
Peter has a special interest in ocular pathology and contact lenses including lenses for Ortho-K and post graft surgery.
Jane completed her Doctor of Optometry degree at the University of Waterloo in Canada in 2011. She has been practicing in Sydney for over 10 years and is pleased to have joined a practice within her community.
Jane enjoys all aspects of optometry, from spending time working out the best solution for an individual’s visual needs to the early detection of ocular disease.
Outside of work, Jane loves spending time outdoors and visiting all of the beautiful local beaches with her family.
We have the latest technology to detect eye disease including a Zeiss Cirrus OCT (Optical Coherence Tomography), a Canon digital retinal camera, a Zeiss Humphrey visual field analyser and a corneal topographer. These instruments are indispensable in detecting eye disease and monitoring eye health over time.
