EyeQ Optometrists has provided eye care for the people of Mackay region since 2002 when local Optometrist, Natalie Rokic, first established the practice. Although no longer living in Mackay, Natalie continues to have close ties with EyeQ Mackay and was key in recruiting our new team of Optometrists: Kylie Freiberg and Ruth Stewart. Both have special interest in children’s vision, having completed further study in this area, and are passionate about providing high quality eye care; between them having over 40 years experience. Our optometrists are also therapeutically qualified allowing them to treat many eye conditions including eye infections. The practice prides itself on great customer service and structures its appointments to allow each optometrist sufficient time with every patient. We are also equipped with the very latest in technology helping us better detect eye diseases such as diabetes, macular degeneration and glaucoma.
The Mackay practice has a large range of contemporary frames to choose from including choices for the budget-conscious shopper, a huge range of children’s eyewear plus the latest collections from Australian, American and European fashion houses. We also have a large range of fashion sunglasses and prescription sunglass options.
Kylie is an experienced optometrist, having graduated from QUT in 2002 with Bachelor of Applied Science (Optometry) First Class Honours. Kylie has since completed post-graduate study in Ocular Therapeutics, Children’s Vision, and Advanced Contact Lens Fittings. Kylie thoroughly enjoys practising full-scope optometry in her hometown of Mackay.
Joel has been working in the Mackay region since 2012 and now calls it home. He enjoys caring for patients of all ages. He has a special interest in dry eyes, contact lens fitting, solving diplopia and other challenging visual situations.
Originally from the UK, Ruth has lived and worked in Mackay since 2004. She enjoys the broad scope of practice that comes with working in a regional area and values being part of EyeQ’s caring team.
